All of the art of dance pole instructors are approved by the Pole Dance Community. Our instructors have a vast array of experience and can teach all levels.

Sam Remmer Pole Dance Plymouth
Sam Remmer

Sam Remmer is the principal instructor and owner of the Art of Dance. Sam started pole dancing in 2001 and  is a PDC Approved 4 star pole dancing instructor.

Sam is Spin City Qualified.

Sam teaches various pole classes as well as a monthly stripper style class.

Rosanna Durban Pole Dance Teacher Plymouth
Rosanna Durban

Rosanna joined the art of dance in 2009 after completing her Polekats instructor training course. Rosanna is a PDC Approved 3 star pole dancing instructor.

Rosanna teaches regular pole classes at the art of dance and is also available to cover private pole lessons


Esme Telford Pole Stretch Teacher PlymouthEsme Telford

Esme started her pole journey as a student at the art of dance in 2015 before qualifying as a Spin City stretch instructor in 2018.

Esme achieved her first competition win at the English Riviera Pole Competition in 2017.

Esme teaches every Thursday night at 7.30pm and she is also available for private flexibility lessons.

Shin started pole dancing in 2012 when she joined the University of Plymouth Pole Dancing Club (UPPDC). She immediately fell in love with pole dance and has since competed in numerous inter-university and national competitions as well as local showcases.

Shin won her first national competition in 2013 Pole Theatre UK in the Pole Art category.Shin joined the art of dance as an instructor in 2015. Shin is a PDC approved 3 star pole dancing instructor.

Abbie O'Brien

Abbie O'Brien joined the art of dance as a student in 2012 before becoming an art of dance teaching assistant in 2019. Abbie qualified as a PDC Approved Pole Instructor in October 2023.

Lucy joined the art of dance in 2014. Lucy is a PDC approved 3 star pole dancing instructor and a qualfiied nutritionist.

Lauryn started pole dancing in 2018 and she qualified as a pole instructor in June 2022. Lauryn loves anything that is splitty and strength based. She is available for privates and teaches regularly at the studio.

Elizabeth started pole dancing in Oct 2021 as a member of University of Plymouth Pole Dancing Club.

Elizabeth has performed regularly at events such as Pride, International Women's Day, University Summer and Winter Showcases, Sports Fairs, and many more.

Elizabeth has also competed at Intermediate level in 2023 at the South West Pole Varsity and the 2024 South West Pole Varsity.

In 2024 Elizabeth held the role of UPPDC Club President.

Elizabeth loves the Pole Community and watching her friends develop and achieve their goals!

Veronika Dray started pole dancing in March 2022.

In 2023 Veronika qualified as a Spin City Beginner Instructor.

In September 2023 Veronika joined the art of dance as a teaching assistant.

Gemma started her pole dance journey in 2021.

In 2022 she placed 2nd in the doubles category at the English Riveria Pole Dance Competition.

In 2023 she placed first in the Intermediate category of the Southwest Aerial

Gemma would love to specialise in teaching beginners, plus size, floorwork and low flow

Fiona started pole dancing in 2022. Fiona always wanted to try pole, always wanted a hobby and absolutely fell in love with pole.

Fiona said "It’s helped with my confidence, my flexibility and my fitness. I can’t wait to TA and learn more along the way!
